FIRS slams blogger Linda Ikeji with tax evasion charges

According to reports, popular blogger Linda Ikeji, has been charged by the FIRS for tax evasion.

According to reports from the Capital NG, blogger Linda Ikeji who acquired a mansion in Banana Island few months ago, is engaged in a tussle with officials of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The FIRS has reportedly hit her with a fine of N75 million, the total amount of tax she had evaded.

Linda was said to have also denied ownership of her Banana Island home touted to be worth over N500 million, when questioned by the officials.

FIRS officials have reportedly taken steps that will lead to her prosecution in a court of law. Linda Ikeji is yet to confirm or deny the recent reports.

In a swift reaction, the 35-year-old blogger has labelled the rumours as false adding that she works as an individual and not a company.

According to her, “FIRS go after companies not individuals. And I was operating as an individual,” she said.

Linda Ikeji who was alleged to have said she is not the owner of the Banana Island Mansion had earlier this year claimed it to be hers and had this to say about that. She told Pulse, “And the Banana house is mine 1000%..lol. Proudly mine and I would never deny it.”
